Yes, it's true, you do need a map - the GPS doesn't do it when you're sitting on the couch.

North America legs - except for some reason Iceland keeps on showing and that one isn't until April... so does Vancouver/Edmonton and that was just the other day... hmm. Ignore those!
Then across Europe and drop into Asia; hopefully we avoid Iranian airspace, but we do fly over Afghanistan - did the last time on the Frankfurt to Singapore route at least... :(
From Singapore (Singapore is on the Equator) the drop down is into Eastern Australia:
All coastal, there is some 'outback' but no stops in the 'red centre' or far north Queensland because of weather, diving conditions and the enormous cost. Some of the flights on the iPad tracker are dropping off as 'not found' - all I can say is: They better be!
From Brisbane, which I seem to fly through lots but I won't visit :( The outer leg is to the islands of Efate and Tanna in Vanuatu. It is 135 miles between the two islands.
And that's it! The whole 62,000 KM run via iPad map. And there's still lots of Earth to see yet!
