Back to Singapore...

Singapore is always easy to do and since I am taking it easy for the rest of the trip - he's the one big thing for today, Singapore's new 'Oceanarium' currently the biggest single pane aquarium in the world, stealing the title from Georgia.
They built the Oceanarium as part of the Sentosa island collection of theme parks and beaches - so Universal Studios etc is here but I just want to see the one thing. A big mall is attached too of course - Vivo City they call it.

So this is the first big aquarium, but it's not the biggest...
All around are tales of the regional shipping and fishing...life on the sea...

 And myriad fish.
Some of which I have recently seen in the wild and in a way it's sad they still aren't !

File fish like below are related to sea horses...

 Oh look here is dinner.

Okay so here she is, currently the world's biggest tank.
Manta rays but no whale shark which seems to be the current draw at ll the other big ones.

There's a dome inside the tank to walk under.

So my finger touches the outside of the plastic tank just to the left you can see a line where the inside surface of the tank is, it's best part of a foot thick.

 Lovely fishes.

 Corals too.

I didnt need to go to Vanuatu, here would have been fine.

Scattered throughout are seafood restaurants, which sounds kind of sick, but I left and went to shop at Uni Qlo and have sushi in a mall near the hotel - out of sight of the fish here!

There was a big thunderstorm this evening too! Surprise! Well, at this time of year i expect it in Singapore :)
