Port Vila, Vanuatu

Back at Vila Chaumiere, on the lagoon, I was having breakfast whilst looking down... and look at the file fish that hang around down below..
The garden is lush here, and in the heat and humidity I think anything could grow.
This is the view up the lagoon.
And one of my bright red friends.
The hotel is really quite nice.
Off I go to the Tanna Coffee shop - because no where in Tanna (where they grown the stuff) has beans - only ground. Since 250gm is over twelve dollars, I am afraid you will only get some if I love you lots...

Then a drive in the hired car with driver up to 'The Summit" - in the far distance is Port Vila, in the near distance is a little island called Hideaway Island - where I am going snorkeling later - so be prepared for snorkel pics!
At the summit the have all kinds of plants growing this sandalwood is being chipped down so they can extract essences. Sandalwood is a parasitic tree, they have to plant certain tree types around it so that it grows optimally, here it's not endangered because they farm the trees.
At the top is vetiver grass, never seen by me but you will have all smelled it in perfume somewhere..

 Lovely gardens here.
This plane coming in I will have to be on in 2 days!

And once at hideaway, the snorkelling begins..
This is the departure dock out of sequence...

Not great focus but christmas tree worms!

 And more lovely clowns!

Leaving near dark the night was almost over...
Back on the lagoon getting dark, time for supper - coconut encrused shrimp.
The red starfish are still there...
And despite the low light I can say that for these ones at least "the stars are in alignment" !
A relatively quiet day, but i am little tired I think I am coming down with the local cold!
